Software Engineer

We are seeking board-certified physicians across a wide range of specialties to partner with us as Consulting Physicians. This is not a typical policy-writing role. As a consultant, you will be a foundational architect of our clinical intelligence. You will translate your deep specialty-specific expertise and the best available medical evidence into clear, logical, and data-driven "pathways" that will define appropriate care on our platform.

This is a flexible, project-based consulting engagement perfect for a clinician who is passionate about evidence-based medicine, frustrated with the status quo, and excited to help build the future of healthcare administration.

Develop Clinical Pathways

Author and peer-review evidence-based clinical pathways for your specialty. These pathways will be the "source of truth" for determining medically appropriate care on the Otter Health platform.

Conduct Targeted Evidence Synthesis

Perform focused reviews of medical
literature, professional society guidelines, and pivotal clinical trials to ensure every
pathway is built on a rock-solid evidence base.

Define Clinical Logic

Identify the key clinical data points, diagnostic criteria, imaging results, and treatment milestones that define a patient’s journey. Your work will directly inform the logic and algorithms of our platform.

Critically Appraise Evidence

Apply your clinical judgment to assess the quality of evidence, balancing efficacy, safety, and value to create pragmatic and effective pathways.

Collaborate with a Tech-Forward Team

Work alongside Otter Health’s product, engineering, and data science teams to ensure your clinical insights are translated accurately into our technology platform.

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with current board certification in your specialty.
• A minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical practice, giving you a deep understanding of real-world patient care.
• Demonstrable experience with evidence synthesis, such as authoring clinical guidelines for a professional society, serving on a P&T or Technology Assessment
  Committee, or developing medical policies for a payer/SBM.
• An analytical and structured thinker, capable of deconstructing complex clinical scenarios into logical steps and decision points.
• An excellent writer with the ability to communicate complex medical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative, and technology-driven environment. You are excited by the prospect of building something new.
